June Week 1

If you can believe it the countdown is on for the end of school and there is even more to do!
Romania announced that June 1st is to be Children's Day, and a holiday!  But because the schools didn't know about it before hand they couldn't give the kids a day off, SOO they have a sports day instead.  I think the kids had great fun running around, tossing balls, playing games, there was even water involved so they got a little wet and cooled off.  We went to watch for the first hour, then because Greg got the day off as well, we went to Therme to spend a lovely child free day (because what better way to celebrate children's day!)

She made a goal on this one :)

The first weekend of June was a three day weekend, so we spent it with friends hanging out by the pools, grilling.  The men decided they had to have ribs in their lives, so I went to a local market, Obor Market.  I got 15 racks of ribs, and 4 pounds of sausages, all for 50$!!!  It was great.  The boys cooked them up all day, oh the horror of having to sit by a BBQ for 6 hours drinking beer and checking on the meat!  It turned out great though!

Time for some chicken and pork belly snacks to keep us going!
 Ahh Bathing Beauties

 Yummy, All Done...
 A LOT of ribs!

We took the kids to a living history museum that is in town so that we could all see a little of what it used to be like to live in Romania back 'in the olden days!'  It was very interesting to see how people used to live in another part of the world.

B decided to wake up and check it out too

The next school week brought on a few school concerts for Lillian.  She was in the school choir, so they had a concert for that.  Her class also put on a concert.  So it was a lot of fun for her to sing, and a lot of fun for us to watch!   Lillian also had an end of year Girl Scout Pool Party, which went great, but we are still not sure if we will continue with GS next year. (I haven't sorted out how to put videos on here yet so... maybe those will come with time)

All in all it was an extremely busy week, especially for Lillian, who ended up staying home on Friday sleeping off a bug on the couch.

I had a BIG day on friday, I went to get my hair colored, I turned it RED!  I am currently loving it!  I then went out with a few SSA ladies for a night out at a hidden garden bar in Bucharest.  The really sad thing is it was probably the worst night weather wise in the last 2 weeks!  It rained ALL day and was damp at night, but we had a few ladies show up and we had a lovely time.

We are ready for week 2 of June so bring it on!

Getting back into the blog... Hopefully!

Hello all, it has been a long time AGAIN.  But there is hope, as I REALLY want to blog about my summer travels with the family this year.  We have a very exciting summer coming up and I want to share it all and keep a record for myself... SO I shall try this blogging thing again...  PLUS Lillian has a blog now as well, so I must keep up with her!

June, it rolled around WAY too quick this year.  We have had a lovely spring in Romania, and May literally flew by.  I knew things would get busy, but I don't think I was prepared for how busy everything got.  I had a lovely birthday month of May, complete with a weekend trip by myself to visit friends in Aberdeen.  What a lovely time that was.  It is amazing how relaxing a child and husband free weekend can be! Other than that May kept us busy with school, work, outings, scouts, weekends with friends, the pool and the gym, among other things!

June rolled around and I have hardly had time to sit down!  The school keeps us pretty busy with end of year performances, lunches, thank yous, parties...  But the countdown is on and the kids officially have less than 2 weeks of school left.

A few pictures from events in May:
Bronwyn found some face paint, and she made herself into a pirate... ARRR!

We had a Mother/Daughter Girl Scouts event at a paint your own pottery place
Lillian got to try a cool bubble technique, her mug turned out really cute!
A photo from my night out in Aberdeen with some great girl friends!
When life is so hard you just have to sleep when you can!
 Pool Fun!
The compound put on a nice kids party the last weekend of May
 Happy Birthday to ME!
