The town of Montepulciano

Day 12:
Happy 4th of July!
We had a great day with Bobbie and Mike!  We didn't want to go too far from home, the kids wanted to make sure they had some pool time in!
Bobbie and Mike directed us to the hilltop town of Montepulciano.  By far my favorite little town in Italy.  Very cool drive up, easy parking, very scenic and friendly.  Plus they offered free wine tastings, of course we said yes, there was cheese and olives and meat and bread for the kiddos to try too.
This town has some Etruscan tombs that you can go and see.  Most of the businesses offered a free visit to the tombs where that also stored wines and displayed artifacts that have been found.

This big bourse greeted us into the old city.

Silly kids posing in the basements of the shop on the way to see the tombs.

Best barrel right there!

Ahh the vino!
We ate lunch at a great little spot with a gorgeous view.
We made it back to the villa with plenty of time to spare.  The kids had a great afternoon swimming in the pool.  We finished off the night with smores and dominos.  Lillian won, like epically...
