January 2013

I can't believe that January is already gone!  It seems like every year time goes by faster and faster.  I had very good intentions (yet again) of spending time on this blog...  so far not so good, but I will try never the less!
We started our year in Hawaii with Mum and Dad, Jamie and Jordyn.  A wonderful place that we hope to visit again.  The kids did well traveling, every time we go on a trip they get better and better.  We landed back in Melbourne and they were already asking when they could go on another airplane!
January went by quickly then, activities with the kids, warm days at the beaches, BBQ's with friends...
My good friend Kendra and her fiance Scott came to visit for a short week, which we filled up with touristy activities and it flew by!  Another trip to the Great Ocean Road, a favorite for me, also a trip to Healesville Sanctuary to see the Australian animals, a day at the beach, then it was time for them to go! I can't wait to see them again at the wedding!
Greg and I went to see the Australian Open, or the tennis as it is referred to here!  We saw the mens semi final match between Andy Murry and Roger Federrer.  What a match!  We had a great night out!  Then it was time to focus on getting back into a normal routine, as Lily was going to start school on the 31st!  and that just about sums up our January, with lots of little things in between to fill in just for good measure!

New Zealand

What a beautiful country! We were here for 8 days, on the north island, and that is not nearly enough time. There is so much to see and do. We took so many pictures, I will try to get it on picasa when we get home, as quickly as I can! Just a few highlights of our trip, we rented an RV, and the family along with Casey took a trip, we started in Auckland, and ended here as well. Our first stop was hot water beach, on coromandel peninsula, we got there a little after low tide, found some people and a spot and dug for hot water, what a cool (and hot) spot! Then we found a place called cathedral cavern, and took a longish walk down to that, totally worth it! The next day we were in the bay of plenty, and we climbed a mountain there (a little one), very nice views. Then on to lake taupo, where we did some hot spring pools, a walk to a waterfall, a honey hive place, then back to some more natural pools, a spring that flowed into a river, way cool! We also saw lots of beautiful scenery, lots of little roads in our big RV. The last thing that we did was the glow worm caves, we saw a kiwi bird, and then we did the Hobbitton tour! I think that was Casey's favorite. That was it in a nutshell, but it was a blast, I would do it again! We are so coming back to this country when the kids are older!
Hope all is well with everyone, will be back in melbourne soon.
